SF locals Mahgeetah have been kicking out their brand of Americana Rock & Roll since 2010 and have a carved out unique place in San Francisco’s incredibly eclectic music scene. Their most recent LP, Heavy Baby, plays off a clear rock and roll influence from the likes of Dr. Dog, Wilco, and My Morning Jacket but with enough diversity to stand on it’s own. We took a liking to the band at a recent SF event, and they were kind enough to let [...] Read More >
When cousins Skip Yowell and Murray Pletz founded JanSport in the late 60′s, the two were primarily building technical mountaineering packs right in the shadow of one of the great mountains of North America: Mount Rainier. The cousins used Rainier as a proving ground for their designs by submitting their inventions to the brutal and often unpredictable conditions of the mountain.
Over 40 years later, we’re still using Rainier as a testing ground for new product developments. This past week we made the trip to [...] Read More >
But man… what a great week. What’s better than NYC and five straight days and nights of live music? We had a great time hanging out at the CMJ Artists Lounge at the Hotel On Rivington and hooking up 2000 artists with our special edition CMJ Artist Right Pack. We heard all sorts of great road stories, and we especially loved the stories involving beloved JanSport packs that have traveled the world in the backs of tour vans.
Even better was all of [...] Read More >

You guys rock.
Stay tuned because we’ll have some great video content from the event [...] Read More >
We’re just 24 hours away from our fifth and final Bonfire Sessions of 2013 and we’re pleased to announce that Parkay Quarts (formerly Parquet Courts) will now be headlining the show in place of DIIV.
The fuzzy garage rock trio had a killer 2012 with their full length debut, Light Up Gold with plenty of national music media attention, and the guys have been going strong bringing the record on the road ever since. We’re looking forward to having the band rock their home borough [...] Read More >

CMJ just announced the first round of this year’s festival artists! We’re psyched to see our new friends and Bonfire Sessions Montreal performers Half Moon Run make the cut (check out some video footage from the BFS back in July.) Also in the first round of announcements is a recently re-formed group we hadn’t heard from in a good many years: Dismemberment Plan. Check out their record Change on Spotify. It’s an oldie but a [...] Read More >
