Our favorite part of SXSW, other than all of the free day parties and non-stop music, is how many great new artists happen across (usually unintentionally) every year. The Preservation was one of them from this year’s festival back in March.

The Preservation are Austin locals and are quickly making a name for themselves not just around Texas but also nationally. Formed in 2009, the band is literally a perfect representation of the Austin, TX musical melting pot with members from both coasts.

Continuing with some SXSW follow-up, we want to bring you another of our favorite SXSW discoveries: The Preservation. We were immediately drawn to the The Preservation’s brand of jingly pop with a sound that’s a little bit Ben Folds, a little bit The Fruit Bats, and alot-a-bit likeable.
