One hundred artists will be selected to move on to the public voting round where fans can vote for their favorite band. The winning group will win a trip to SXSW to play the official Sonicbids SXSW party, presented by JanSport.

This last week saw two more event in the JanSport College Battle of the Bands series.

On Wednesday, 11/16 the battle was held at Ninkasi Brewery in Eugene, Oregon. This event was the final round of the Eugene series and saw The Harmed Brothers take the win. The event also raised over $300 dollars for Big City Mountaineers! Stay tuned for a track from the guys in the streaming player. Come out tonight for second round of our JanSport College Battle of the Bands Series in Eugene, OR at the Ninkasi Brewery. The show starts at 6pm and will feature Rare Monk, The Harmed Brothers, and Security In Numbers.

We’re happy to announce the winners of the first event of our College Battle of the Bands Series, held at Virginia Tech at Top of the Stairs in downtown Blacksburg. Blacksburg group West of West took the prize, beating out five other acts to win Jansport packs for the whole band, as well as a series of performances with Blacksburg Live Music. Tonight’s the night we kick off our first ever College Battle of the Bands Series. JanSport’s student ambassadors at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia will be hosting the event at Top of the Stairs in downtown Blacksburg beginning at 10pm. Campus Cookies will also be at the event providing free fresh bakes cookies to the first 200 people in the door.
