The Annual JanSport Mount Rainier Climb brings retailers, JanSport employees and outdoor media together for fellowship and testing of the Brand’s technical products. Today, the annual adventure is the longest running group climb on Mount Rainier.

For this year’s 43rd annual climb we hosted climbers from all over the world including JanSport Distributorships, JanSport Employees, Carryology, Monster Children, Outdoor Industry Association and JanSport’s digital agency, Teak.  We were fortunate enough to have ideal climbing conditions and saw half of our 16 climbers summit the mountain.

We recently had the opportunity to treat Genevieve Blau, who famously is “dating her JanSport,” to a trip of a lifetime to Barcelona, Spain. See the original story here: http://www.dailydot.com/lifestyle/jansport-dating-instagram-genevieve-blau/

At first, Genevieve’s goal was to do a funny bit involving her JanSport backpack. It evolved as more people began to respond to it. She wanted to show that she could enjoy her own company in a fun way, and hopefully to encourage people to do the same. As Genevieve describes, “Relationships come and [...] Read More >

We recently had the opportunity to spend two consecutive weekends with long-standing partner, Philmont Scout Ranch in scenic Cimarron, New Mexico.  Every summer, Philmont Scout Ranch sees more than 23,000 Scouts from around the country, where they take part in backcountry adventures.  Throughout its existence, conscientious attention to low-impact camping techniques has helped maintain the Ranch’s wilderness.

Wilderness Guia (Guide) Program

JanSport is proud to support the Wilderness Guia (Guide) Program at Philmont Scout Ranch. The program teaches Scouts the seven principles of Leave No Trace (LNT). [...] Read More >

Every year, JanSport looks forward to Memorial Day. Not just for a day off work but because JanSport for the last several years has had the honor of sponsoring and attending, Telluride Mountainfilm, America’s longest running film festival.

We braved some strange Telluride weather but nothing could trump the inspiring film premieres and panels that left us more knowledgeable and more aware of the many issues facing our beautiful planet.

Mountainfilm’s 2015 line-up featured films about amazing feats of climbing, incredible achievements of the human spirit [...] Read More >

Since 1979, Telluride Mountainfilm is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. Through the years, the festival has always been best described by one unchanging word: inspiring. Far more than any other adjective, that’s how festival audiences describe their experience.

In addition to screening leading independent documentary films from around the world, the festival includes a full-day symposium on a contemporary issue, art and photography exhibits, early morning coffee talks, outdoor programs, a book-signing party, an ice cream social, student programs and a closing awards ceremony. Presentations and panels [...] Read More >

#LiveOutside2015 is officially here.

JanSport has joined Arlin and NOVE, two of the most influential muralists on the São Paulo street art scene.  A duo that is described as both harmonic and tumultuous, these two have collaborated on more than 20 walls since 2008. For Live Outside 2015, the duo collaborated on their largest mural to date in the São Paulo, Brazil neighborhood of Pinheiros.

The 131 x 49 feet mural took just over 4 days to complete.  The project wrapped up with a celebration at [...] Read More >

With millions of people visiting the outdoors each year, never before has there been such a need for Leave No Trace education.  In response, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics has selected 12 scenic and popular sites as “Hot Spots.”  Hot Spots have experienced visitor-created impacts including excessive trash, damage to vegetation and trees, trail erosion, and disturbance to wildlife.  These Hot Spots, part of Leave No Trace’s new, multi-year campaign, Leave No Trace in Every Park, will bring Leave No Trace to [...] Read More >
