Have you ever thought about climbing a mountain? Now’s your chance to do it, and help someone else out along the way.

Big City Mountaineers has just announced the dates and locations of their 2013 Summit For Someone climbs!

Here’s how it works: you pledge to raise a pre-determined amount of money to benefit Big City Mountaineers. If you meet that pledge, you are given the opportunity to participate in one of 19 incredible climbing experiences guided by world-class guides and you’ll be outfitted by Big City Mountaineers gear sponsors (JanSport included!).

This year’s climbs include domestic favorites like Mt. Ranier (guided by our friends at International Mountain Guides Inc.), Mt. Langley, Mt. Shasta, and Wyoming’s Grand Teton along with some more exotic international climbs including Argentina’s Aconcagua, Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and even a climb to the Mt. Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas.

You could always go and hire your own guide, buy all of you gear, and take your chances on your own, but then you wouldn’t get to help support Big City Mountaineers mission of providing at-risk urband youth with life changing mentoring experiences in the outdoors. PLUS- you’ll spend a whole lot more trying to plan and outfit these climbs yourself.
