Now in its fourth year, MountainSummit: MountainFilm in Aspen is a unique collaboration between MountainFilm in Telluride (long acknowledged as the leading film festival for adventuring and advocacy) and the Wheeler Opera House of Aspen, CO.

The festival brings artists, activists, and adventurers together for four days in late August, filled with extraordinary film and speaker programs featuring award-winning documentaries plus talks from some of the most interesting people working on the planet today.

This year’s deep and diverse playlist features many of the highlights of the 2012 festival, including Ai WeiWei: Never Sorry, Bidder 70, and Chasing Ice. The festival will bring together inspiring special guests including ground-breaking photographer James Balog, biologist Sandra Steingraber, and Lyndsey Van of the US Women’s Ski Jumping Team. Also attending will be acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns who will present his latest film, The Dust Bowl.

Dates for the 2012 MountainSummit: MountainFilm in Aspen are Thursday, August 23, through Sunday, August 26. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!
